Here, the days are slow and the fun is easy: a quick walk to the pool, a paddle before breakfast, a bike loose on the roads, and a beach where the water stays calm and the sand stays warm. No screens required. No schedule to keep. Just a family, a lake, and a whole lot of daylight to fill. Slow morning
Coffee on the picnic table while the kids feed the ducks and the lake goes glassy. Nobody's in a hurry.
Pool o'clock
The pool opens and the crew is first in. Cannonballs, marco polo, and a lounge chair with your name on it.

Between the swimming pool and the sandy lake beach, there are two ways to cool off and zero reasons to sit still. The lake is freshwater and calm, so even the little ones can wade and splash while you keep an easy eye from a shady chair.

Their first paddle, right off the beach
There's a particular kind of proud that shows up on a kid's face the first time they steer a kayak on their own. On Bayou La Croix, the water is glassy and forgiving — a perfect first paddle. Rent a kayak or paddleboard at the front desk, push off from the sand, and follow the shoreline past herons and turtles.
Grown-ups love it too. It's the easiest way to end a day — a slow drift while the sun drops.
Our kids didn't touch a tablet for four days. They were too busy in the pool, on the kayaks, and roasting marshmallows with friends they'd just met. We're already booked for next summer.

Is Lake LaCroix good for young kids?
Very. Lake LaCroix RV Resort in Bay St. Louis is built for families — a swimming pool, a calm freshwater beach with no Gulf surf, a playground, and a safe, low-traffic property where kids can bike and ride golf carts. The whole place is designed for little ones to roam.
Is there a dog park? Are pets welcome?
Yes to both. Every site is pet-friendly and there's a fenced dog park on the property, so your dog gets to run off-leash while the kids play. Just keep pups leashed elsewhere in the park and clean up after them.
What ages is the resort best for?
All of them. Toddlers love the shallow beach and playground, older kids love the kayaks, paddleboards, and golf carts, and grandparents love the easy pace and the shade. It's an easy trip to plan across generations.
Are there family events during our stay?

Do we need to bring our own kayaks and gear?
No need. You can rent kayaks, paddleboards, and golf carts right on site — just ask at the front desk. Bring your swimsuits and marshmallow sticks, and we'll cover the rest.
